Good morning!
The overnight temperature is finally warm enough for me to go fishing in the morning, so my fuzzy little fishing buddy and I started this year’s regular trips with a trek to Evelyn Hallman.
Surprise Catfish
We got to Evelyn Hallman Pond and had the first line in the water around 11:30am. We ended up with four lines in the water, one with Little Smokies, one with raw shrimp and two with corn. As I cast the last line with corn and was placing it in the rod holder I felt the hard tug.
Why I’m no longer a fan of the palomar knot
To most anglers (and boy scouts) the palomar knot is one of the basic fishing knots. Fairly simple to tie and recommended even by fishing line manufacturers on their packaging. After this past week’s events I will not be using this knot any longer.
Catfish Marathon
The Solunar data table said today and tomorrow would be excellent days, so my fuzzy little fishing buddy and I decided to try it out. We were not disappointed!
Carp Tuesday
I don’t normally pay attention to the Solunar chart since it has failed me often in the past. I do however usually go fishing before work on Tuesdays, and yesterday happened to be an excellent day according to Solunar data. With the weather getting cooler (thankfully!) I figured catfish will be hunkering down for the winter.
